Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Awards ₹2.28 Crore Scholarships to 3,743 Amritdhari Students for 2025–26

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has distributed scholarships worth ₹2,28,98,500 for the academic year 2025–26 to Amritdhari students studying in its educational institutions.

At an event held at the SGPC office, the scholarship cheques were handed over to representatives of various institutions by SGPC President, Harjinder Singh Dhami.

Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Dhami said that the SGPC has always been actively working for the promotion and propagation of Sikhism. He added that the Dharam Prachar Committee runs a scholarship scheme for Amritdhari students studying in institutions managed by the SGPC. Under this scheme, crores of rupees are provided every year to support students with their educational fees.

This year, a total of 3,743 Amritdhari students have been awarded scholarships amounting to ₹2,28,98,500. He further informed that apart from this, the Dharam Prachar Committee also provides special scholarships annually through religious examinations.

Dhami also appealed to the Sikh community to encourage their children to stay connected with Sikh teachings and identity, so that more youth can benefit from such initiatives.

Several prominent personalities, including Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Satbir Singh Dhami, Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Er. Sukhminder Singh, Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Shahbaz Singh, Bijay Singh, Harbhajan Singh Vakta, Sukhbir Singh, Principal Dr. Kulwinder Singh, Dr. Gurjeet Singh, Dr. Rupinder Singh, Bibi Maninderpal Kaur, Mrs. Mamta, Nishan Singh, Jogeshwar Singh, and Maninderpal Singh, were present on the occasion.
