Chandigarh, April 1
Bhagwant Mann addressed the media today and responded to questions regarding the strike by commission agents (arhtiyas). He stated that the demands of the arhtiyas are related to the central government, and issues that are not within his jurisdiction cannot be resolved by the state government.
He further remarked that strikes carried out under pressure or “blackmailing” tactics will not be accepted, and such methods are not the right way to get demands fulfilled.
He added that he will meet the arhtiyas today to listen to their concerns but made it clear that undue pressure or coercion will not be tolerated.
