Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi for the past two days. She was hospitalized on Tuesday night.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has been staying at the hospital to take care of his mother. In a video shared on the Congress party’s social media account, he said that he had been sleeping on a small sofa in his mother’s hospital room. Like any son, he was deeply concerned about her health.
However, he found comfort in the care provided by a nurse from Kerala, who looked after his mother attentively. He said that throughout the night, one thing gave him reassurance — the presence of the nurse, who came every hour to check on his mother. She would examine her, smile, and hold her hand, offering warmth and care.
Rahul Gandhi reflected that nurses from Kerala have comforted countless sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters during their most difficult moments. He added that when he asked the nurse in the morning whether she gets any sleep or works through the night, she replied that she works all night.
He further said that while the rest of the world sleeps, women from Kerala — not just in Kerala, but across Delhi, the country, and the world — continue to provide comfort and care to people, holding their hands and helping them feel at ease.
“For me, this is the identity of Kerala,” he said.
