Canada, March 5
Social media influencer Nancy Grewal has been fatally stabbed, LaSalle Police have confirmed. The incident has shocked the local community. Police said the victim, a 45-year-old woman of Punjabi origin, was identified after she was attacked in LaSalle.
According to police, Nancy Grewal, a Windsor resident known as a YouTuber, was attacked on Tuesday night. LaSalle Police said officers and paramedics received a report of a stabbing shortly before 9:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Todd Lane. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found Grewal suffering from severe stab wounds.
Authorities confirmed that she was taken to Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Hospital, but she later succumbed to her injuries.
In a statement posted on social media on Wednesday evening, police expressed their condolences to Grewal’s family and friends. “The LaSalle Police Service extends its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Nancy Grewal,” the statement said.
However, police have not yet confirmed whether any suspect has been taken into custody.
On Wednesday morning, investigators cordoned off two homes on Todd Lane between Canada Street and Bishop Street as part of the ongoing investigation. Several evidence markers were placed on the concrete walkway and steps leading to the front door of one of the houses.
Authorities also taped off a wooded area about one kilometre away near a pedestrian path close to Herb Gray Parkway on Todd Lane, where investigators were searching for additional evidence.
This fatal stabbing occurred nearly two weeks after the first homicide in the region in 2026. On February 18, a 44-year-old man was found unconscious with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Metropolitan Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
Police said that case was also linked to LaSalle, and a suspect was arrested the same day from a house on Broderick Road in LaSalle.
Investigators are urging anyone with information related to the LaSalle homicide to contact Detective Sergeant Jamie Nestor at 519-969-5210, extension 2531. Police are also requesting surveillance footage from nearby residents to assist in the investigation.
