New Delhi, March 24
Today marks the 10th day of the second phase of the Budget Session in Parliament. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Rajya Sabha at 2 PM on the situation arising from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
On Monday, he delivered a 25-minute speech in the Lok Sabha on the Iran war. Modi stated that the difficult situation created by the conflict could have long-term global impacts. He emphasized the need for preparedness and unity, recalling how the country faced similar challenges together during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Prime Minister also said that the government is making efforts to ensure that there is no shortage of oil and gas in the country. He noted that India is now importing from 41 countries instead of 27 to secure energy supplies. Additionally, he highlighted that around 10 million Indians live in West Asia, and their safety remains a top priority.
