Donald J. Trump Warns Iran of ‘20-Times Bigger’ U.S. Attack if Oil Flow in Strait of Hormuz Is Blocked

Washington, D.C., March 10

U.S. President Donald J. Trump posted a strong warning regarding Iran and the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

In his post, Trump said that if Iran takes any action to block the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, the response from the United States would be far more severe than previous strikes.

He stated, “If Iran does anything that stops the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, the attack by the United States will be twenty times greater than any strikes carried out so far. We will easily destroy critical targets that would make it nearly impossible for Iran to rebuild as a nation — death, fire, and fury will reign over them — though I hope and pray it never comes to that.”

Trump added that ensuring free passage through the Strait of Hormuz would benefit major oil-consuming nations, including China and others that heavily rely on the vital maritime route. He expressed hope that the message would be understood and appreciated internationally.
