Akal Takht Secretariat Condemns Misleading Viral Video of Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj

Amritsar, March 31

The in-charge of the Secretariat of Akal Takht Sahib has strongly condemned certain miscreants for allegedly distorting and circulating a video on social media related to Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj from a Gurmat Samagam held in Batala.

He stated that Singh Sahib is a firm follower of Sikh principles and maryada (code of conduct), and under no circumstances can act against it. He clarified that the viral video, which falsely suggests that Singh Sahib touched the feet of an Akali leader, does not reflect the truth.

In reality, after addressing the congregation at the event upon the request of the stage secretary, Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj was about to take his seat after receiving a token of सम्मान (honor). Meanwhile, the stage secretary invited the concerned Akali leader, who was also present on stage, to address the gathering. However, the leader declined, stating that since Singh Sahib had already spoken, there was no need for him to speak. The leader can also be seen moving the microphone aside in the complete video.

During this sequence, Singh Sahib briefly stood up again while taking his seat and joined others on stage. The Secretariat stated that this entire sequence was maliciously edited and presented out of context by miscreants to undermine the dignity of the Jathedar’s high position, which is unacceptable.

The Secretariat also warned social media platforms responsible for sharing the misleading video to refrain from such actions and to remove the distorted content immediately.
