Chandigarh, February 17
The weather is set to change today in Chandigarh and across Punjab. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain, thunder, and storms for the next two days. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. However, the daytime chill has now completely subsided.
Over the past 24 hours, the maximum temperature has risen by 0.6 degrees Celsius and is currently 4.8 degrees above normal. Firozpur recorded a maximum temperature of 31 degrees Celsius, the highest so far this season. In the plains, Bathinda recorded the lowest temperature at 6.6 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, districts including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Muktsar, Mansa, and Bathinda are likely to experience rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds blowing at 30–40 kilometers per hour today.
