Modi–Macron Mumbai Meeting: ₹3.25 Lakh Crore Rafale Deal and Strategic Talks on Indo-Pacific & AI



New Delhi, February 17

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will meet in Mumbai today. A major defence deal worth ₹3.25 lakh crore is expected to be signed between the two countries. In terms of value, this will be India’s largest-ever military procurement. Under the agreement, India will receive 114 Dassault Rafale fighter jets.

During the meeting, discussions will cover defence cooperation, maritime collaboration, the Indo-Pacific strategy, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and other global issues. The meeting will take place at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai at 3:15 PM. At 5:15 PM, both leaders will jointly inaugurate the India-France Innovation Year 2026 and address industrialists, startup founders, research experts, and innovation leaders from both countries.

President Macron is on a visit to India from February 17 to 19. During his stay, he will also participate in an AI summit in Delhi.
