SAD (Panthic) to Hold Panthic Conference at Sri Anandpur Sahib on March 3; Giani Harpreet Singh Levels Allegations Against Sukhbir Badal

President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Panthic), Giani Harpreet Singh, has announced that his party will organize a Panthic conference at Sri Anandpur Sahib on March 3 on the occasion of the Hola Mohalla festival.

Speaking to mediapersons after holding meetings with party working committee members and district presidents in Amritsar, Giani Harpreet Singh said several suggestions were put forward to further strengthen the party. These include forming an Istri Akali Dal (women’s wing) and strengthening the federation wing. He added that key issues concerning Punjab and the Panth were also discussed during the meetings.

Expressing concern over the state police chief’s alleged participation in an AAP political rally, he said the development has created anxiety among Punjabis.

Referring to the alleged land scam related to Gurdwara Amb Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh accused Sukhbir Singh Badal of influencing decisions of the Shiromani Committee and encouraging the sale of land. He further alleged that while the Punjab government is selling land on one hand, the Shiromani Committee’s land is allegedly being sold at throwaway prices to collect election funds.

He asserted that Shiromani Akali Dal (Panthic) will not compromise on Sikh principles and maryada (religious code of conduct).

Responding to a question, he clarified that the party currently has no political alliance with the BJP.
