Sri Muktsar Sahib, February 25
A collision involving two horse carts and a pickup vehicle occurred near the outer bypass on Malout Road, opposite Dera Beas in Sri Muktsar Sahib. In the accident, one horse cart driver died, while another was seriously injured.
Following the initial collision, the vehicles overturned on the road. Shortly afterward, a pickup vehicle carrying kinnow fruit from Abohar to Hoshiarpur rammed into them. The pickup sustained significant damage, though its driver suffered only minor injuries.
Jatinder Pal Singh, an official from the Bus Stand Police Post in Sri Muktsar Sahib, said that one of the horse carts had been parked on the roadside in front of a dhaba, and the driver was asleep inside. Another horse cart coming from behind collided with it, leading to the accident.
The critically injured driver has been referred to the Medical College in Faridkot for treatment. Police have initiated further investigation.
