Bhagwant Mann Lays Foundation of Govt ITI in Sardulgarh, Targets Opposition Over Education and Nepotism

Sardulgarh (Mansa), February 24

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today laid the foundation stone of a Government ITI at Sardulgarh. Addressing a large gathering on the occasion, he took sharp digs at the opposition.

Referring to former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Mann said that although Badal’s thinking may have been broad in not wanting students to fail until Class IX, the results in Class X were often equivalent to failure.

He further stated that his government immediately suspends “black sheep” whenever wrongdoing is detected. Emphasising the importance of education, Mann said that in the future, those with education would be considered truly influential rather than merely those who own large tracts of land. He urged people to ensure their children receive proper education, assuring them that he would take responsibility for the rest.

The Chief Minister also appealed to the people of Punjab to hold him accountable in case of any wrongdoing. Taking a swipe at the Congress and Akali parties, he alleged that they function on four principles: “I, my grandson, my nephew, my brother-in-law and my in-laws.”
