Chandigarh, March 30
Snowfall in the hills and rainfall in the plains have led to a change in weather across Punjab and Chandigarh. Over the past 24 hours, the temperature has dropped by 2.4 degrees Celsius and is now close to normal.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds with speeds of 40 to 50 km/h are likely across the state today. Hailstorms are also possible in some areas. An orange alert has been issued in this regard, and similar weather conditions are expected on March 31 as well.
The department has predicted light to moderate rainfall in 23 districts of the state, while 11 districts may experience hailstorms and strong winds. These include Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala, and Mohali.
