Fatehgarh Churian (Gurdaspur), March 5
Former Punjab minister Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa along with his supporters raised slogans against the Punjab government outside the BDPO office in Fatehgarh Churian over the repeated postponement of meetings regarding the appointment of the Block Samiti Chairman following the recently held Block Samiti elections.
Bajwa said that a meeting regarding the appointment of the chairman had been scheduled for 11 a.m. on March 5. He stated that he reached the BDPO office in Fatehgarh Churian on time along with 12 winning Samiti members.
However, despite waiting for a long time, the BDPO did not arrive, and the SDM was reportedly on a one-day leave. Bajwa said that even after a long wait, a notice was later issued over the phone stating that the meeting had been postponed.
He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party wants to appoint the Block Samiti Chairman in its own manner, which they will not allow.
Bajwa added that they would approach the courts to seek justice, and if a protest becomes necessary, they will not back down from the struggle.
