London, March 3
During a discussion held yesterday in the Parliament of the United Kingdom on the issue of the attack carried out by Iran, UK Member of Parliament Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi raised concerns regarding the safe return of British citizens stranded in the conflict.
Speaking in Parliament, MP Dhesi thanked Prime Minister Keir Starmer for confirming that the UK does not have a direct role in the war. He expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the conflict and voiced concern for the safety of people in the affected regions.
He asked what arrangements were being made to ensure the safe evacuation of British nationals trapped in war-affected areas. He also sought clarification on steps being taken to prevent unilateral drone attacks and to work with partners toward ending the conflict.
Responding to the questions raised by MP Dhesi, Prime Minister Keir Starmer presented the government’s position in the House and shared relevant information regarding the attack. He reiterated that permission had been granted to the United States to use air force bases and assured that every possible effort was being made to ensure the safety of British citizens.
