Tension prevailed during a meeting held today at the Block Development and Panchayat Officer’s office for the election of the Block Samiti Chairman in Talwandi Sabo, after police allegedly stopped 10 Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) members from entering the meeting venue.
Shiromani Akali Dal constituency in-charge Ravipreet Singh Sidhu stated that the party had won 10 seats in the Block Samiti elections, while the Aam Aadmi Party secured 9 seats. He alleged that despite this majority, Akali members were not being allowed to enter the meeting so that a chairman from the Aam Aadmi Party could be elected.
