Chandigarh, March 6
Senior Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa said in a post on social media that the Congress party boycotted the Governor’s address in protest against what he termed the failure of the Bhagwant Mann-led government.
He further stated that it was surprising that Aam Aadmi Party ministers Aman Arora and Harpal Singh Cheema walked out of the Assembly and came outside to address the media instead of attending the Governor’s speech.
Bajwa added that for the first time in the history of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, sitting ministers left the Governor’s address midway. By doing so, he alleged, they had indirectly supported the Congress protest and exposed the hollowness of their own government.
