Major Changes in LPG Cylinder Booking Rules; Separate Time Limits for Ujjwala Beneficiaries and General Consumers Announced

New Delhi, March 25

Oil companies have introduced a major change in the booking interval for LPG cylinders. Under the new system, separate refill booking time limits have been निर्धारित for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and general consumers.

Now, Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries will receive a 5 kg ‘Chhotu’ cylinder within 16 days, while general consumers will get it within 9 days. This new system has been implemented to curb black marketing of gas and to ensure proper assessment of consumption.

According to the revised norms, the booking interval for 14.2 kg cylinders for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries has been increased to 45 days. For regular domestic consumers, this limit has been set at 25 days. The 10 kg composite cylinder will be available within 18 days.

To prevent shortage and hoarding of gas cylinders, oil companies have made significant technical changes in their software systems. Customers with two cylinders will now have to wait at least 35 days before booking a refill, while for single-cylinder consumers, the minimum waiting period has been fixed at 25 days.
