Aman Arora Seeks Apology from Congress Over Khaira’s Remark, Calls for Policy on Children’s Social Media Use

Chandigarh, March 11

Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that for centuries, family lineages have continued through mothers’ wombs. He questioned the kind of statements that are being made today about the womb. He added that the government’s plans are aimed at women’s empowerment and said the entire Congress party should apologise for the statement made by Sukhpal Singh Khaira.

He further said that while social media has its advantages, it also has disadvantages. Australia has imposed a ban on the use of social media by children under the age of 16, and two Indian states have also taken steps in this direction.

Arora said that certain issues have come to the government’s attention and work has already begun to address them. Such situations arise when children do not go out to play in playgrounds. The government is building 31,000 playgrounds to encourage outdoor activities among children.

He also appealed to everyone to give suggestions so that a good policy can be formulated on this issue. The matter was raised by MLA Rana Inder Pratap Singh, who said it is an important subject and should be debated in the House. Responding to him, Minister Arora said that it is indeed a significant issue.
