Amritsar, February 19
Information has emerged that during the ongoing Executive Committee meeting of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee here today, a decision has been taken to remove Giani Raghbir Singh from the post of Head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib.
This was disclosed by opposition-affiliated Executive Committee member Master Mithu Singh Kahneke, who spoke to the media outside the meeting. He stated that he has submitted a dissenting note on the resolution and demanded that an impartial inquiry should first be conducted into the alleged irregularities and accusations concerning the SGPC.
He further said that in light of the allegations levelled against the SGPC President, the latter should resign from his post.
A formal announcement regarding the removal of Giani Raghbir Singh is expected to be made shortly during a press conference by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami.
