Assam, February 20
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today said that dragging Gaurav Gogoi and his family into allegations of “Pakistan links” amounts to wrong politics.
Priyanka Gandhi stated that the Chief Minister of Assam is fearful ahead of the elections and is therefore making such allegations. She added that instead of levelling personal accusations, the focus should be on the development of the state.
She further said that the manner in which Gaurav Gogoi and his family are being targeted clearly reflects negative politics. The people of Assam, she asserted, understand that their opponents are afraid of them and that they are on the right path. She described it as a matter of dignity and respect.
Today marks the second day of Priyanka Gandhi’s visit to Assam. In the morning, she reached Sonapur near Guwahati and interacted with the media.
