Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her address to the Lok Sabha today, presented a comprehensive picture of how this year’s Budget will contribute to the country’s economic transformation.

Sharing her speech on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi wrote that the Finance Minister highlighted key areas such as the “Reform Express,” support for MSMEs, skill development, next-generation infrastructure, healthcare, education, and several other initiatives aimed at boosting growth.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Sitharaman stated that the total resources to be transferred to states in the 2026–27 Budget—including their share of taxes and releases under centrally sponsored schemes—are estimated at ₹25.44 lakh crore, which is ₹2.7 lakh crore higher than in 2025–26.

The Finance Minister emphasized that central schemes are open to all states and encouraged them to seek assistance for establishing mega food parks, IT parks, smart cities, and waterways.
