Narendra Modi Meets Benjamin Netanyahu, Pays Tribute at Yad Vashem on Second Day of Israel Visit



Tel Aviv, February 26 

Today marks the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel. The Prime Minister will begin the day by paying tribute to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.

Following this, he will meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog to discuss bilateral relations and key regional issues. A major defence agreement between the two countries is also expected to be signed during the visit.

Before noon, Prime Minister Modi will hold delegation-level talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The meeting is expected to focus on defence cooperation, missile defence systems, cybersecurity, and partnerships in advanced technologies.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi tweeted about his meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu in Jerusalem, stating that the two leaders visited an exhibition showcasing cutting-edge technological innovations. The exhibition highlighted pioneering work by Israeli youth in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, healthcare, cybersecurity, water resources, agriculture, and other sectors. He also encouraged Israeli companies to invest in India and collaborate with India’s talented youth.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Israel on Wednesday for a two-day visit. He was received at the airport by Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife, Sara Netanyahu. Later, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, and was honoured with the Knesset Medal by the Speaker. He became the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Knesset.
