Sri Anandpur Sahib, February 27
The national festival of the Khalsa Panth, Hola Mohalla, commenced with great grandeur and spiritual fervor at Qila Anandgarh Sahib, in accordance with age-old traditions. The festival is being celebrated from February 27 to March 1 at Sri Kiratpur Sahib and from March 2 to March 4 at Sri Anandpur Sahib, reflecting the majestic spirit and glory of the Khalsa.
The celebrations began with the resounding beats of traditional nagaras and the spirited chants of “Bole So Nihal,” creating an atmosphere immersed in devotion and the Guru’s blessings. On this occasion, the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was performed, followed by a night diwan held at Qila Anandgarh Sahib. Renowned ragis of the Guru’s house mesmerized the congregation with Gurbani Kirtan, while a large number of devotees from across India and abroad attended with deep reverence.
During the formal inauguration, the officiating Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj; Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Baba Tek Singh Dhanaula; Internal Committee Member Dr. Daljit Singh Bhindar; SGPC Member Bhai Amarjit Singh Chawla; Sant Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale; Sant Baba Satnam Singh (Kar Sewa); Baba Gurdev Singh; Baba Jarnail Singh (Kar Sewa); SDM Sukhpal Singh; Baba Teerath Singh, along with several other prominent personalities, were present.
As per tradition, the Manager of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Malkit Singh, was honored with a ceremonial turban (Dastarbandi). Thereafter, Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj offered the Ardas, and revered saints struck the ceremonial nagaras to officially announce the commencement of Hola Mohalla festivities.
