New Delhi, February 25
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has blocked five online streaming platforms. These platforms include Mood X.V.I.P., Koyal, PlayPro, Digi Movie Plex, Feel, and Jugnu.
The government stated that these platforms were streaming obscene and objectionable content. The content was found to be in violation of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT Rules, 2021, Section 292 of the Indian Penal Code, and laws related to the indecent representation of women.
This is not the first time the government has taken action against OTT platforms. In July last year, 25 such platforms were also banned.
