Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leader and former Revenue Minister of Punjab, Bikram Singh Majithia, paid an unannounced visit this morning to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, the fourth Takht of the Sikh community, to pay obeisance.
Upon his arrival at the Takht Sahib, he was welcomed by Shiromani Akali Dal constituency in-charge Ravipreet Singh Sidhu, who is considered one of his close associates. After offering prayers, Majithia also met the Jathedar of Takht Sahib, Singh Sahib Baba Tek Singh Dhanaula, who presented him with a siropa (robe of honour) on the occasion.
Those present at the event included Takht Sahib Manager Bhai Narinderjeet Singh, Additional Head Granthi Giani Gurjant Singh, Dharam Prachar in-charge Bhola Singh, and Assistant Manager Gursevak Singh Kingra.
During a brief interaction, Majithia said that he had come to pay obeisance at the Takht Sahib as a humble Sikh and had prayed for the welfare of all. He declined to engage in any political discussion.
