Chandigarh, February 24
Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former minister Bikram Singh Majithia appeared before the district court in Chandigarh today in connection with a case registered in 2021 regarding the gherao of the Chief Minister’s residence.
It is noteworthy that proceedings in the matter had earlier been stayed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. However, after Majithia secured bail in the disproportionate assets case, the stay order was lifted.
The Chandigarh court had issued summons directing Majithia to appear on Tuesday, following which he appeared today to mark his presence. The court has now directed him to appear again on the 26th for further proceedings.
