Senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who arrived in Amritsar late last night after being released on bail from Nabha Jail, visited Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Baba Deep Singh Ji today along with his wife to pay obeisance. During the visit, he offered floral tributes and sweets at the gurdwara and was honored with a siropa.
Speaking briefly afterward, Majithia said that he had come to the gurdwara to bow in reverence and express gratitude. He also stated that there has been a long-standing demand for the release of Bandi Singh Professor Devinderpal Singh Bhullar, who has been imprisoned for nearly 30 years and is reportedly not in good mental health. Majithia added that Bhullar had struggled for justice following the June 1984 military operation and condemned the rejection of his release.
