Chandigarh, February 27
Reacting to the acquittal of Arvind Kejriwal and other accused in the Delhi excise policy case, Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said that the Central Government had levelled serious allegations and kept them in jail for 1.5 years.
He questioned that if there were no serious charges, why were they imprisoned? And if there were serious charges, how were they acquitted? He added that the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Arvind Kejriwal could better answer these questions. However, he said he congratulates them on getting bail.
He further stated that whether someone is acquitted or sent to jail makes little difference to the people of Punjab. What concerns them, he said, is whether the Aam Aadmi Party government they formed has delivered justice or not.
