The derogatory remark made by Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Partap Singh Bajwa, about Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. deserves the strongest condemnation. Speaking on the matter, Gulzar Singh Bobby, a member of the Punjab Scheduled Castes Commission, stated that Congress leaders have lost their mental balance and that their anti-Dalit mindset is लगातार becoming evident.
He alleged that Congress leaders have repeatedly targeted leaders from the Dalit community—at times referring to elected representatives as “material,” making insulting remarks, and even passing comments related to color discrimination.
On the other hand, he said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has been consistently promoting underprivileged youth, which, according to him, is not being digested by the affluent leaders of the Congress Party. He further claimed that their mindset has been to keep the Dalit community subjugated, whereas the AAP government has elevated them to higher positions.
Bobby asserted that neither the AAP government nor the Dalit community will tolerate the behavior of Congress leaders.
