Yellow Alert Issued in Punjab and Chandigarh for Thunderstorms and Strong Winds as Weather Changes


Chandigarh, March 14 

The weather has changed in Punjab and Chandigarh. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in the state for the next four days starting today (March 14). During this period, rainfall is also likely in several areas.

In the past 24 hours, a slight drop in temperature has been recorded. The maximum temperature has fallen by about 0.4 degrees, although it is still 3.8 degrees above normal. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Faridkot at 31.8 degrees Celsius. However, temperatures in all districts have now fallen below this level, whereas earlier in several places the mercury had reached around 35 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance has become active from today, which will initially affect the hilly regions. Due to this, the weather may change in the coming days, with the possibility of rain and strong winds at some places.
