Bhawanigarh (Sangrur), February 12
Responding to the Bharat Bandh call given by trade unions, Powercom trade unions and the Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Dakaunda staged a protest outside the Powercom office and raised slogans against the Central and Punjab governments.
On the occasion, ITI Employees Association Sub-Division President Rajinder Singh, Technical Service Union President Sukhwinder Singh, Powercom contract employee leader Jugraj Singh, and BKU Ekta Dakaunda State Senior Vice President Gurmeet Singh Bhattiwal stated that the Central government is allegedly attempting to weaken the country’s working class by introducing new laws and agreements. They criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entering into a trade agreement with the US President, claiming it has harmed the nation’s economy and deserves strong condemnation.
They called upon workers across the country to unite on a common platform and launch a major struggle to get the trade agreement revoked and safeguard the nation. The leaders also condemned the AAP-led Punjab government for what they described as anti-farmer and anti-employee decisions.
