New Delhi, February 12
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, accused the media of blindly following the BJP’s directives, calling it harmful for the country. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, the Congress leader said, “You are not meant to work entirely for the BJP. At least try to do something objective; it becomes truly shameful… this is too much. You are responsible people. You belong to the media; your duty is to remain impartial. You cannot simply obey them… every day, you run your entire show on them. You are harming this country.”
Gandhi’s remarks came after BJP MP Nishikant Dubey stated that he had moved a motion in the Lok Sabha seeking the termination of Gandhi’s parliamentary membership and a lifetime ban on him from contesting elections, accusing him of misleading the nation.
