New Delhi, February 18
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.
Prime Minister Modi described the meeting as “excellent,” stating that the India-Bhutan friendship continues to expand into new and transformative areas. In a post on X, he wrote, “It was an excellent meeting with Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. We discussed how we can harness the power of AI for global good and in line with the principles of sustainability. Our enduring India-Bhutan friendship, rooted in mutual trust, goodwill, and close ties between our peoples, continues to guide our partnership into new and transformative domains.”
Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, said on X that the two leaders reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation in areas such as energy, connectivity, development partnership, and people-to-people ties.
