New Delhi, February 12
Opposition Members of Parliament staged a protest at the Makar Dwar of Parliament in the national capital against the India–US interim trade agreement. Opposing the trade deal between India and the United States, the MPs described it as a “trap deal” while holding placards.
The opposition also demonstrated in support of the Bharat Bandh called by trade unions to protest against various central government policies. Workers and farmers across India participated in the nationwide strike today to oppose the Centre’s policies, including labour codes, trade agreements, privatization, and other measures perceived as anti-worker and anti-farmer.
