Only 13 Minutes of Proceedings as Rahul Gandhi Speech Row Stalls Lok Sabha

 New Delhi, February 10

Today marks the 10th day of the Budget Session. The Union Budget for 2026 was presented on February 1. Following this, a discussion on the President’s Address was scheduled, but the Lok Sabha has been repeatedly adjourned over issues raised by Leader of the Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.

On Monday as well, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha lasted only 13 minutes. The opposition continued to demand that Rahul Gandhi be allowed to speak. Rahul Gandhi stated that they had approached the Speaker an hour earlier, who had assured them that he would be given permission to speak before the budget discussion. However, he was not allowed to do so. He questioned whether he would be permitted to speak or not.

Meanwhile, opposition parties are preparing to move a motion to remove Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla from his post. Sources say that the motion may be brought under Article 94(c) of the Constitution. So far, 103 Members of Parliament have signed the motion.
