Unidentified assailants shot dead a sitting village sarpanch of the Aam Aadmi Party in Tarn Taran.
According to information, Harbrinder Singh, the current sarpanch of village Thathian Mahantan, had arrived at Sidhu Farm in Tarn Taran to attend a wedding ceremony when three unidentified attackers opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.
His cousin, Germanjit Singh, who was seated beside him, sustained injuries after being hit by a bullet. During the incident, one of the attackers reportedly used an AK-47 rifle.
