Prime Minister Modi Interacts with Students at “Pariksha Pe Charcha”

New Delhi, February 6

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with students from across the country for the 9th edition of “Pariksha Pe Charcha”. At the Prime Minister’s residence in Delhi, Modi first presented the students with Assamese scarves and then answered their questions.

In the first episode, Modi advised the students to give up foreign products and adopt Made-in-India products. He also appealed to them to envision their dream of a developed India within the next 25 years. He said:

"When India completes 100 years of independence, you will be around 39–40 years old. You should start imagining a developed India as your dream. Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life with the dream of independence in his heart. The sacrifices made 25–30 years before independence were for the cause of freedom. Think about what you want to do for a developed India and make that your dream."

Overcoming fear with self-confidence
A student asked, “I get nervous while giving presentations. How can I overcome this fear?”

The Prime Minister replied:
"Have you ever seen a poor woman sitting on the pavement talk about an event on TV with so much confidence? Did she practice for an interview? No. Her confidence comes from truth. She knows she is speaking what she has seen. Similarly, if you have faith in your work, the fear of presenting will disappear."

Creating games based on India’s immortal stories
Srijit Gadgil from Goa asked, “I am very interested in gaming, but my parents do not understand. What should I do?”

Modi suggested:
"India is full of stories. You should create your games based on them. Make games inspired by Panchatantra stories. Create a game based on Abhimanyu’s story. Launch it on your own website. Slowly, you will see how many people are playing your games."

Avoid “Marks-marks disease”
Answering a student’s question, Modi said:
"I don’t know how this ‘Marks-marks disease’ spread. Do you remember the first 10 numbers from last year? Those achievements are temporary. We should focus not only on our marks but also on the impact of studies on our life."

Focus on both skills and marks
A student asked, “Which is more important: skills or marks?”

The Prime Minister replied:
"There is no single correct answer. If you lean only to one side, you are bound to fall. Skills are important in life, and as a student, obtaining marks is also important. The right approach is to maintain a balance between both."

The next episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha will be released on February 9
