Punjab Police Bust Major Drone-Based Heroin Smuggling Near Attari Border

Attari Border, January 6 – Punjab Police achieved a major success by apprehending two drug smugglers and seizing heroin worth ₹18 crore that was smuggled into India from Pakistan via drone.

According to reports, during a checkpoint set up near Attari Mor, close to the village of Bhandiar, police from the Gharinda police station spotted two individuals arriving on a motorcycle. When signaled to stop, the suspects tried to flee, but police managed to corner and arrest both. The officers recovered 3 kilograms and 2 grams of heroin from them.

The arrested smugglers have been identified as Harmanpreet Singh, son of Dharm Singh, and Anmol Singh, son of Sukhram Singh, both residents of village Bhandiar, under Gharinda police jurisdiction. Police stated that a detailed investigation is currently underway regarding the seized contraband.
